Morgan Russell Hunger Games
Having read the book before, I had pretty high expectaions for the film which were not completely met. The visuals were very well done at time and I thought they did a good job of creating the world form the book. However the whole thing seemed pretty watered down. The book was probobly aimed at young adults but the movie seemed like it was made for an even younger crowd. I was definatly hoping for some more time and imagination spent on the fights in the arena. With the tributes dying off so quickly it was hard to feel much tension as I did when reading the book. There was definatly a wide variety of acting skill in the film as well. I thought the Charcters of Cinna played by Lenny Kravitz, the head game maker, and Haymitch played by the always entertaing Woddy Harellson were portrayed extremely well. The actress who played Katniss and Donald Sutherland as President Snow were adaquate, but Peeta and Gale's character seemed very lacking to me. Overall, it was a fairly entertaing movie but probly not worth seeing again.
