Sally Duff-The Way

I really liked this movie.  It was cool to watch Tom’s transformation throughout his walk.  He started out very kept to himself.  He didn’t want anyone to join him, he just wanted to do his own thing.  At the end, he was still set back but he was willing to embrace community and fellowship.  The Camino changes people.  Journey changes people.  When we experience things that break us, we are built back differently.  It is impossible to return after that.  Sometimes this change is good, sometimes it can be damaging.  We’re all broken, but the difference is how we rebuild.  On the Comino, Tom was rebuilt with friends, he was able to heal from his son’s death.  Had he not gone on the Camino, he would have changed too.  But he probably would have become more set off, more distant and detached.  The Camino enabled him to experience his pain and grieve and then rebuilt after that, through that.
